Happy Canada Day
Well, here we are, July already … in a blink of an eye. Happy Canada Day!
After Cybil died I lost my knitting mojo. I didn’t have the motivation for much, and I don’t know that it was related to Cybil’s death, but that is the marking point I remember. It all seemed to go down hill from there.
Guess who’s back, back again. Mojo’s back, tell a friend … (people who listen to Eminem will understand that reference). Yup, I think my mojo is back. It’s all thanks to the Forget-Me-Not sock. I have aspirations to finish WIPs and have been browsing Ravelry again, which is something I haven’t done in a long time. I even popped into The Needle Emporium with my sister last Saturday to see if I could find some inspirational yarn to knit Riopelle (which for some reason I always call Rippole). Nothing jumped out at me, but I’ve got a general idea. I was planning to do a solid colour, but I’m thinking a nice handpainted would be better.

On the weekend my bestest friend came for a visit … a long overdue visit. I’m not sure why it had been such a long time, but she brought last year’s birthday and Christmas presents for the children (and toques for hubby and I). See, I told you it had been a long time. Anyway, she had knit the Flower Power Elephant for Ethan and immediately Lily fell in love with it. Owen liked it too, but not as much, though once Lily started begging for her own, he did too. Yesterday I knit 95% of it, leaving only the feet for today. Since I was up bright and early this morning with Dozer I figured I’d finish it before she woke up.

Today I plan to get more progress done on the Forget-Me-Not sock. The pattern is really simple, really cute, and not boring … I figure I should have no problem completing not only one sock, but the whole pair! I should also plan in some time to at least start knitting Owen’s elephant. Maybe I should plan some time to do laundry and a workout and … and … and …
Nah, I think I’ll just knit! :)
Have a great day!
PS. I am letting my www.wildernesswitch.com domain name EXPIRE … not that it’s expensive, but I don’t need it, and I’d rather spend that money on yarn … it was fun while it lasted though. Please change your links to my blog back to http://milotis.wordpress.com/ Thanks!!

Look at that sock progress! And the elephant looks great… I’ll get the baby square pattern to you today or tomorrow
I’m here! I’m alive! We are still a three person family and thanks for the nudge – I just posted! Happy Canada Day! AND I LOVE THAT SOCK AND YARN!
Glad you have that mojo back. The sock is a great color…love it. Love the elephant.
Happy Canada Day!!
Glad to see you’re knitting again. The elephant looks great. Small projects help the mojo.
The sock’s really coming along!! Valerie made the elephant for Rowan for Easter. I’m thinking of making one for my new neice or maybe both of them for that matter.
I’ve kinda lost my mojo, but that tends to happen to me during the summer months (when I could be making Christmas gifts, LOL)
