Caldeado

It hasn’t really been toque weather around here lately, and I needed something warm enough, but not too warm, so I decided to knit a headband. I wanted to name this quick knit something different – something cute and meaningful – so I named it Caldeado, which is the spanish word for warm.

Materials
Patons Classic Merino Wool – two colours (A & B), about 1/4 ball of each.
3.75mm 16″ circular needles

Sizes
medium (large)Caldeado
Finished headband is 2 3/4 inches wide.

Gauge
6 sts and 8.5 rows = 1″

Slip Stitch Pattern
Round 1: *slip 3 (colour A), knit 3 with colour B* repeat from * to * around.
Round 2: knit with colour A.
Round 3: *knit 3 with colour B, slip 3 (colour A)* repeat from * to * around.
Round 4: knit with colour A.

Instructions
With colour A cast on 90 (102) stitches.
Work in 3 x 3 ribbing for 4 rounds.
Next two rounds: knit.

Work the four rounds of the Slip Stitch Pattern four times (16 rows)
(If you would like a wider headband add more pattern rounds, always ending with a knit round.)

Next Round: Knit with colour A.
Next: Work 3×3 ribbing for 4 rounds.
Bind off and weave in ends.

Enjoy!
