Germs!
Good morning! The first two pictures in my blog today are the before and after shots of the making of a
snow demon angel … thanks Owen!
Germs! There are germs every-freakin’-where. The sick has invaded my house again. It came from the school. I know this because it’s Owen who is, once again, sick. It’s nothing as disgusting as barfing or anything like that, but he has a nasty cough and woke up this morning with a fever. Niiice. The other day his friend left school early because she wasn’t feeling well. Her mother told me that she (and her sister) both had fevers, but 12 hours later were back to normal, so I’m hoping that will be the case for Owen too. Lots of rest and tylonol should do the trick.
I had a lot of comments regarding the yarn in my last post. Well, it got chucked. I was going to try to detangle it; and by “try” I mean give it five or ten minutes of my time and if it didn’t fix easily I would
just toss it. Well, I didn’t try. There was no point, because after I took the picture of it Lily claimed it for her own. She grabbed that knotted yarn, announced “Mommy, this is MY soft” and took off with it. When she was done with it, it was ten times as bad. I’m surprised she didn’t tell me it was her “puppy” because that’s what she calls yarn sometimes. A long time ago when I was in Julie’s store Lily kept trying to grab the yarn and play with it so Julie told her “Lily, you have to pet it like a puppy,” and proceeded to show Lily how to touch it nicely. It worked wonders. Most of the time Lily is very gentle with yarn. However, even though I have her 1/2 convinced that yarn is called “yarn”, sometimes she still insists that its called “puppy”.
As promised, here is a picture of the baby blanket I’m working on. I’m not as far on it as I would like to
be, but I am 50% done so that’s good, I think. The finished size of the blanket will be approximately 32″ x 28″. It is a really easy knit, and a pattern I’ve just made up in my head … its not rocket science though. Its just stockinette stitch with a row of (yo, k2tog) every 5 rows (or maybe its seven, I can’t remember at this exact moment in time), and a garter stitch border. Easy peasy.
That’s all for today. I hope everyone is having a great week. Its cold out today … a very chilly -13°C. Its so cold that when Cybil goes out to do her business she is very quick about it. No playing around or sniffing to see what other creatures have been in the yard. Brrr. Keep warm!!
Happy Knitting!!

I am terribly sorry to hear about the sick at your house too!
The baby blanket looks great.
I love your snow angel! Hopefully the germs will leave your house very soon.
I hope Owen feels better soon. Nothing worse than having a sick child, or adult for that matter. I cant believe it is -13, I dont think I would even venture outside in that weather. I love the baby blanket, it looks so pretty, and I dont think I would have even tried to untangle that mess of yarn either.
Maybe you need to install a Clorox Sprayer for people entering your home LOL! Gosh, every is down with something this year. Germ-phobe that I am, I managed to get knocked on my fanny with something last weekend.
The snow angel is cool…you have snow to make them. Maybe next year I can try.
Hope Owen feels better soon…poor kid has had more than his share of down-time, hasn’t he.
The baby blanket is awesome…great work as usual, and the colour is scrumptious!
