By Samantha @ http://milotis.wordpress.com

Materials

3mm knitting needles
Worsted weight yarn
Darning needle
Polyester stuffing
Catnip

Instructions

Leaving a 3” tail, cast on 15 stitches.
Knit for about 1 ½ inches.
Next row: k1, *k2tog *across row.
Next row: knit across
Next row: k2tog across row
Next row: knit across

Cut yarn leaving a 10” tail and using your darning needle carefully take remaining stitches off needle (looping tail yarn through with darning needle). Sew up mouse, leaving base open.

Stuff with catnip and polyester stuffing and then sew up the base leaving the original 3” tail showing as the mouse’s tail. Or if you don’t want to use catnip, then just use the stuffing.

    Hi,

I knitted 4 of these last night for my step-daughter’s two cats Bilbo and Charlotte – I’ll be mailing them off today. I’ve been thinking about all kinds of variations.

  15. Laura says:

i didn’t understand the *k2tog *…what does that mean, wanna make one but can’t understand….

    • Rebecca says:

Hi Laura, “k2tog” means “knit two (stitches) together”. After that it says “across row”, in this case it is referring only to the “k2tog” because it is being highlighted by the stars. So, the first row is: k1, k2tog, k2tog, k2tog, etc. Happy knitting! :)

    • Heather says:

K2tog means knit two stitches together. Meaning pick up two stitches with the needles – knit, this will drop one of the stitches.
